Zhangzhou, Fujian Province

One of the lanes in the older section of town,
and a newer street flowing round a banyan tree.

HI Catherine

It's great to see you've set up the BLOG, it's so easy isn't it? I really enjoyed your email about risking following the grandma's and young children to what turned out to be the grand fireworks.
I certainly had seemingly scary but exciting moments like that when I travelled Europe by myself ages ago and we've definitely tried many things in countries close and far.
I must say that reading of your adventures only makes me want to travel more. I think it's hit Mark as well. Whilst flicking through today's Sunday AGE he's already spied a potential food tour to India! I thought it was Japan next.

Oh well, there can only be more wonderful adventures in the future.

Stretching your memory banks can you recall the last time you attended anything for Mooma? We have just had the launch of moomba on Friday night and joined approx. 5000 Melburnians on the Alexandra Gardens for a live taping of Rockwiz, one of our must see weekly shows (SBS, Saturday nights), which was followed by a concert with Daddy Cool (we left before then). Yesterday it was 33 degrees in Melbourne and we watched about 45 mins of the Waterfest semi-finals for the womens waterskiing on the Yarra. Today we went down for the Birdman Rally - just as crazy as I remembered from childhood. Tomorrow we intend to make the jackpot (Labour Day Monday) but seeing the Parade - although no King or Queen was nominated this year.

We figured as 3000 residents we should attend in our first Moomba season.

Speak soon, Tam & Mark
