But there are lots of options for eating out, and hot pot is a favourite with a large group of people. Or you can find BBQ spiced skewers by the local fishing pond.
And Roger gets to try many interesting things on his travels, from bamboo to bees.
And after food there is tea.
Mostly we drink the local variety of green tea; tieguanyin.
A red tea is also available called pu-er. It is aged and comes compressed, sometimes in beautiful tablets.
